grams_protein ÷ caloriesThe single best measure of protein efficiency. A bar with 20g protein in 190 kcal (0.105) beats one with the same protein in 280 kcal (0.071). We normalize between 0.05 (poor) and 0.25 (excellent).
Every Themis score is a weighted average of four measurable inputs. Nothing is hand-waved, nothing is editorial gut-feel, and no brand pays for placement. Here is the exact formula.
score = 0.30·P/kcal + 0.30·density + 0.20·taste + 0.20·$/serving
Each input is normalized to a 0–1 scale (with a defensible lower and upper bound per metric), multiplied by its weight, and summed. The result is scaled to 0–100.

grams_protein ÷ grams_of_productHow much of what you eat is actually protein. Rewards concentrated formulas — a 32g scoop with 28g protein (88%) beats a 46g scoop with 21g (46%). Normalized 0.15 – 0.85.
